They can’t just vanish.

I had not realized this was a significant part of why dads of the time liked Start Wars until the special editions on the big screen. I was taken aback at the ...uh...intensity of my biological response.

It was also the first time I noticed the abundant amount of cocaine that was clearly on set.

Isn’t he a little short for a stormtrooper?

BUT MINE SURE IS IN RESPONSE.

I remember at PAX 07 (Seattle) we ran into Mel Brooks as we were leaving Ruth’s Chris (company was paying, don’t look at me like that). This would have been in the middle of the Young Frankenstein previews.

To my mind, this fan edit I speak of is probably the pinnacle of what could be achieved from that production. It includes many elements that were new to me that felt *very* Lynchian. So it might not be sanctioned or have his blessing, but its a damn fine cup of coffee, if you ask me.

The previous reply covered off the details, but the thing about this persons work is how excellently they stitch it together. Its a completely different structure than previous editions, but its seamless both visually and in the score. I have no idea how they pulled it off.

If you have a hankering for watching David Lynch’s Dune, and you should, head over to YouTube for the 3 hour “Spice Diver” fan edit. Its amazingly good.

A key difference is King Kong performed at the box office, those other ones fizzled as they should have.

I believe I picked up from an interview along the way that Messiah is his desired end point.

King Kong is the only movie I’ve ever boo-ed the credits of. What a stupid and self congratulatory mess.

I dunno about that. I laughed my ass off.

...do you just think this about all successful cis white men?

This is the first followup article that I think has touched on something really strong that is being under-discussed. People seem really fixated on taking the “Team TERF” throwaway line literally, which is a misreading of the text.

I’m not going to lie, you have either bad taste or low standards.

I find the detachment observable in this woman’s eyes incredibly ... terrifying.

Alien 3 has problems. But cribbing from the first two isn’t one of them.

You combine that with Dave’s cold-as-ice observation that LGBT people are pretty comfortable leveraging race privilege and you should be able to see his point.

Oh that last point is interesting.
