That's nice. But there is no connection between your 'thoughts' and reality.

Please try to keep the herpes that are known as politics away from Jalopnik. This is an automotive enthusiast website. Just because you saw a story that had the word "car" in it, doesn't mean it belongs here. Must be a slow Friday.

+ He'd be fiddling with iDrive the whole time.

Detroit's economy was dependent on manufacturing; not the tech sector (e.g. Silicon Valley). Apples to oranges comparison you're trying to make. Texas isn't liberal. There's also no income tax in Texas or Washington. Washington is home to Amazon, Starbucks, Costco, Microsoft etc. That attracts intelligent and

SS is absolutely a Ponzi scheme. Literally word for word. But the worst part of it all, is that we're all forced to participate in it. In the private sector we have laws to help prevent and terminate these schemes. The govt has nothing of the sort. When the program was introduced in 1935, the tax rate for the

That article was published in May. This is July. Do your own research.

Fiscal 2014 estimates are based on impossible GDP figures. And the statement "California was running" would insinuate past tense. Not future, a la 2014.

Might want to check again. In January, Brown introduced a plan that he said would eliminate the deficit. But his outlook crumbled because his estimates were based on GDP projections that CA never saw. CA is looking at $3.9B in the red for the year. Tack that on to their $1 trillion+ debt. CA bankruptcy is on the

Not a Porsche. Can't believe you just wrote an article about a "Porsche" on a bank note, that looks nothing like a Porsche. Mitsubishi Eclipse mixed with Ford GT side intakes.

Only one of those three companies has a private drag strip and a tuner school. Hennessey is not run by John Hennessey, he almost let the company go bankrupt in the 90's. His business partner makes those kind of decisions. Since he took over operations look how big Hennessey has become. It's no longer just a Viper

Random tidbit hardly anybody knows; Clarkson has been wealthy almost all of his life. In 1972 his parents started a company called Gabrielle Designs, which is the company that has produced all of the Paddington Bears.

Who said anything about rebuilding them?

Hennessey tunes Porsche engines, Mercedes engines, Bentley, multiple Ferrari models, GTRs, Lexus, McLaren. They've tuned an LFA and a Bugatti. They'll tune anything you send to them. Just as long as your pockets are deep enough.

The HPE700 package is "just stage one" as well bud.

*But not the 727 that sits in the P1. There's this new thing that just came out called proofreading.

For anyone saying he should be running way faster times with 2000hp, let's take a second to figure out why that may be the case. #1 He didn't launch the vehicle a single time, he eased off the line because he's trying to keep his $400,000 toy working for more than 1 pass. #2 The car isn't running drag slicks. #3 This

Dyno runs are generally made in 4th gear. Remember, power is no different from 4th-6th. This event looked very disorganized so I'd guess he just wasn't told how to dyno properly. He just figured he'd take it up to top gear but there's no need to put unnecessary stress on the dyno.

This didnt have anything to do with the amount of power being put down, the guy put it in 6th gear and took it up to like 200mph on a dyno that's only rated for like 150mph max.
