I know this article is old and there are lots of newer ones out. One of those newer apps is http://GTDNext.com - which deserves a hard look - especially if you like GTD as your productivity system.

I will admit that sometimes I will write a task down in http://GTDNext.com that I have already done, just so that I can have the satisfaction of checking it off as DONE!

Very interesting idea. I love the break the chain methodology, so this seems like a pretty painless way to implement it.

Interesting. I used to do this as part of my morning routine, but kind of got out of the habit. I like the idea of logging it somewhere. Will have to give it a new shot. thx!

This is great advice. It's actually a core reason why we put unlimited sub-projects and tasks into http://GTDNext.com - It allows users to plan items down to very small next actions - which as your article shows is sometimes the key to start of keep going.

Take a look at http://GTDNext.com - Simple to use but with advanced features not seen in some of the other web apps

Please take a look at http://GTDNext.com - We are new and working hard to become the best GTD app around. Free to try. Beautiful outline mode allows for unlimited project and task levels.

I usually try to do this in the morning before I start my work day. Did this study specify that doing it at the end of day led to productivity over those that didn't journal? Or just journaling in general (at any time) leads to the gains cited?
