Nah. America has pretty much moved on. It’s only Deadspin commenters that really still grind this axe.
As a Penn State alum (Class of 2011), oh come on. The university cleaned house, implemented every single one of the Freeh recommendations, and is actively trying to help victims of child abuse and aiding prevention.
I mean sure the jersey adds are a little annoying, but the dude has a stick up his ass about it. And he sells t-shirts that “reverse stadium naming wrongs” or something like that. As if the name of the stadium means anything.
I love the idea of Uni Watch, but I hate Paul Lukas. He pretty much only likes uniforms from the 80s and his deep hatred of “the brands” and corporate sponsorship is annoying as hell.
Imagine being one of the people that doesn’t think he’s the Rookie of the Year.
Rule proposal: I don’t want to see another Kyrgios post until he makes a Grand Slam semifinal, cries like a baby in the middle of a point, or beats an umpire to death with his racket. Nothing but the extremes from now on.
Right, I completely agree that the Thursday night games are bad. But the decision to watch football on Thursday is completely independent of the decision to watch football on Sunday. I could see if the ratings were decreasing on Thursday, but how does that have any impact on Sunday?
Yeah, Thursday Night Football is usually bad. But the concept I don’t get is “oversaturation” - who is saying “Oh, I just watched football on Thursday, I don’t need to see it again on Sunday?” College football has games pretty much every night and the ratings on Saturday are doing fine.
I’m torn: on one hand, the kind of people he retweets and his views deserve to be shamed, and people need to know that’s not ok.

So what you’re saying is that Dijon can’t cut the mustard?
She couldn’t think of a better wrestling nickname than “Paige?”
Are we really going to pretend that this twist was just made up on the spot to keep Ben in the game? I’d bet a large sum of money that this twist was intended to be in the game before the 18 players hit that beach. With how meticulous this show is, there’s literally 0 chance they made that big of a decision at the…
This was a good season, especially towards the end.
Are you serious? The new final tribal format is incredibly interesting. Instead of everyone asking one question, they actually get to have a serious debate and a deeper dive into the finalists’ games.
Two things I don’t get:
I’m going to be completely honest - having Gina back for this episode after such a long time was a little jarring. I had kind of liked the cast without her, she’s like the one ingredient in a dish that’s a little too strong and her absence only made me notice it more. I’m not prepared to say that the show is better…
College basketball is just more fun. The NBA is great, and if you’re a basketball purist, I get how you’d look down on this. But the NBA can be so clinical, so joyless - it’s just a never-ending slog of “get to point x on the floor, do y, kick out to z.” I like it, but it doesn’t thrill or madden the way that college…
Counterpoint: replay is good, and has not “poisoned” American sports. Because getting the right call on a key play is worth a minute or two of our lives.
