Have a star for the Goldbergs reference.

Will the production version come with the chain-on-the-wheel anti-theft system, or is it an extra cost option?

Perhaps so. I’m driving a stick mostly these days (though I learned on an automatic) and I find the handbrake quite useful.

When you are at a standstill, apply the handbrake? Have I been doing it wrong all these years? Does that mean at lights and stuff? This is what I do:

I suspect it was lost by a biker. I heard a story just a couple weeks ago about a guy who lost a Glock on the road when his saddlebag fell off. He didn’t find it.

I grew up in the 70s. When I foolishly bought a brand new Pontiac, it had a 12mo/12,000 mile warranty. I’m stoked anytime I buy a car with the balance of the factory warranty intact. But again, I buy cars that generally have rock solid reliability ratings. No extended coverage for me.

Just here to say that my experience reflects what he is saying. Comparable cars at CarMax were about $1000 more. I ended up getting a lower mileage very similar car at Carvana for about $1600 less than CarMax.

Mag wheels? I’d rather have the steelies, but the original buyer pay $300 for them. Imagine, that was 10% of the original price of the car! I remember these bad-old-days when dealer options were de rigueur.

I did this last year when they required a 4-month prepay. Just turn off auto-renew. After dropping it, I got an offer from them for 3 additional months for $10/mo, so I took them up on it. At that price point, its worth it to get some of the channels with the programs I like. I used to pirate, but I’ve found I can

The city should just end the medallion system. Buy back the medallions at whatever the going rate is, and let it go at that. As I understand it, taxis weren’t all they were cracked up to be. Weren’t drivers known to discriminate against riders and not service certain areas? That’s why jitneys, car services, and ride

I usspect it’s either a Matador X or a ‘77 Malibu Classic. I would include pictures but that doesn’t seem to work for me anymore.

This! Yes! Yes! Finally a lawyer that doesn’t spout some bullshit about helping the less fortunate, or representing the down trodden.

When I see -any- recent ‘gray market’ cars on social media, I worry for the owners. With these you need to fly under the radar. Salvage title or whatever, its in danger of being crushed.

I think a line from ‘Madmen’ works here:

Seems like it was Toyota’s attempt at building a better Mercury Cougar. I guess they did it.

Confirmation bias at work. “I’m a smart and worthwhile person who makes good decisions, therefore my decision about a car purchase is equally good. I think I’ll start a fan board for these awesome cars!”

Interesting that this car is being revived not by a JDM fanboy, but by a guy who wanted an economical daily driver. I will say that his $3000 (or so) investment got him into a much more interesting car than the same amount I just spent on a Corolla.

Too bad it’s not black. Then everyone would think its McGarrett coming down the street.

After you watch this, check out “The Wages of Fear” (Le salaire de la peur). Friedkin says his movie is not a remake of ‘Wages’, and you’ll have to take him at his word. It is also a great movie.

And the rest of the mail carriers that don’t get caught just destroy the mail they don’t deliver. Remember kids, if there’s no evidence, there’s no crime.
