I thought everyone knew this. I’ve done it many times, for all the given reasons: times worked better, prices better, had enough miles for one way but not both. I’ve never gotten extra security scrutiny either, but I do have a KTN (Known Traveler Number, from having Global Entry).

My blender has a base that unscrews, exposing the seal, hard plastic where the threads are and metal blades attached through a metal base, and leaving just the glass jar. It seems pretty easy to get clean, and mine goes in the dishwasher, in parts.  I thought all blenders did this.
