It does say “currency”. Can I assume that rules out coins?

Funny - in Spanish class in about 1967, my teacher Miss Richardson (no, not a very Hispanic name) explained the subjunctive to us by telling us to think of “If I Were a Rich Man”.
No one who is carrying a functional cell phone can really be “lost”. Its GPS knows exactly where it is. So get a free GPS app (like GPS Essentials) that can display lat & long so you can report those if you do get a cell signal. And get a free mapping app that downloads your maps at home when you have data instead of…
I’ve long believed that the basic principles of training dogs and kids are the same: 1) Be consistent; 2) Corrections need to happen immediately; 3) You get much better results with positive reinforcement than with negative.
Flew a couple of Southwest flights lately, which were completely full. But there was still plenty of overhead space. Because of SW’s free checked bag policy many fewer passengers seem to be trying to carry on way too much. Southwest is the best!
Keep in mind (if in fact you were even aware) that the game wouldn’t have even gone to extra innings, the Rockies would have won in 9, were it not for a rare E-5 by arguably the best 3rd baseman in baseball, Nolan Arenado. That run in the Boston 8th to tie was unearned.
A) I believe those numbers are thousands, not millions, as that is what the linked-to report says. Now a number like American’s, over a million million, i.e. a trillion, would be a lot of money!
Maybe instead of, or much better, in addition to, studying math, students ought to be taught to use a spreadsheet to analyze this type of problem. I’m pretty good at math, including being able to do mental arithmetic to at least get a good approximation of an answer to a problem. But I find myself opening a new Excel…
I suppose you are really a CPA, and your analysis is good, as far as it goes. But it seems to be focused solely on getting the maximum total payout possible.
I’ve been to a few CFL games. They sing O Canada before the game.
Note that it’s a $5 per shirt CREDIT, not actual money. Credit against a $39 T-shirt? No, thank you.
In Thailand there’s a 7-11 on almost every block, it seems. They are prized by travelers because they’ll readily break that 1000 Baht (about US$31) bill that the ATM gave you if you buy a 10 Baht bottle of water. Many other places won’t change them. 7-11 also has about the cheapest coldest beer.
I heartily agree with my Fellow Dave. I don’t even grasp how people can worry about the subject - when you gotta go, you gotta go, and that’s when you go, and for me that’s right after coffee. Constipation is for losers.
I hate the Patriots as much as anyone, including their owner, and I’m all for mocking him unmercifully. But this was a stupid arrest and is a stupid prosecution of a stupid law. Arrested for getting a hand job?! C’mon! Even if it can be proven that the ladies in this establishment were there against their will…
Not entirely apropos, but once while hiking in the mountains I came upon a circle of rocks around disturbed ground. On top were lovingly laid a well-used collar and a very tattered tennis ball. Thinking about it brings tears to my eyes to this day. And I’m not that sentimental a guy.
I add to the chorus saying that in years of grilling this has never happened to anyone I know.
To the commenters, I’d suggest that it’s grossly unfair to criticize Frum without at least reading the whole essay, which I had done before seeing this piece. It’s very well done, but it’s long, and the excerpts here don’t do it justice, not least because of how they were selected. BTW Frum is an immigrant himself,…
Interesting that I have the first 3 of things (though my SSD is a 1 TB) and agree with you substantially.
I take it they don’t allow intentional walks in this game?
This happened to me once at Great Clips. Only a buck or so but still annoying. I now try to pay in cash.
