Have you ever considered that by having ‘paid’ mods it could be an incentive to fragment a content mod into pieces and overcharge for each individual belt buckle?

And most of them I wouldn’t pay for up front. Many gameplay overhaul mods arn’t something you know you’ll love or hate ahead of time.

Or perhaps hold a small kick starter to continue development on the mod. I’d rather a mod be free to get into but if the gamers want more then it becomes an investment. Not perfect but better than an up front charge (which most people won’t touch)

There is only a handful of mods that I feel are worth monetization.

This is why patents and copyright slows everything down.

Considering that the total war games are getting... Same-y (sequels and spinoffs) I’m actually more interested in games that introduce more crazy stuff like mages into the total war formula.

I find that to be a great failing in many RPGs. Divinity: original sin, for example, gives you a tutorial dungeon followed by 3 hours of running around town.

the space battles certainly can feel epic because of the effort of building all the ships. You can have real adrenaline moments over the risks involved, more so than any other game.
