The flag represents something. In this case, it represents the thing Kaep is protesting. The flag, to many, is a symbol of black oppression among other things. If you are going to take a symbolic stand (a protest), the primary symbol for the thing you are protesting is the most obvious thing to address.

Or a more logical solution would be to temporarily stop receiving contributions until HRC is done with public service. The Foundation can still operate as a grant making institution, just on a smaller scale (working from the fund they have already established).
