Total agree with this! I always recommend this anime to people. Totally underrated, and a very powerful, emotional story imo.

I’m almost positive that drinking the kool-aid came from the Acid Tests Ken Kesey put on in the 60s. They put LSD in garbage cans full of kool-aid, hence “The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test”.
