Your tests of sharpness, dynamic range, and color accuracy are at the extreme end of unscientific. Strapping the cams to a surfboard and snowboard are good tests of usability and durability, but not image quality. To be clear, I disagree with your conclusion.

Obviously a biased/paid review. The image stabilization is optical and digital on the Sony. Who wants a "sport" camera without image stabilization? And who wants to spend hours image stabilizing in post production? Image quality is much better on the Sony when looking at review on You tube with side by side
