There’s also the false-idea of being “safer” in a SUV/CUV.

The height difference between a CX-3 and a Mazda3 hatch is almost impossible to see in person even side-by-side.

Few people “need” a cuv/suv, they just think they do, just like few people “need” a minivan unless they have 3+ or 2 kids and big dogs. A sedan will do for most people’s needs for the majority of how they use it. That said, having the convenience of a larger rear opening can be handy more often than you think. Sadly

I really want to know how something like this isn’t considered “macho”. I’m single with no kids and I’d rock this all week....

the problem is the ratio of glass height to body height below the beltline. Many new cars today have the ratio skewed with too small glass height (see current and last gen camaro)

Most cars today are pretty useless for having a middle passenger in the front. Most cars 25 years a go were too, unless it was for a 5 year old, before they were required to sit in a booster seat. I’ll take a console, and save the squishy seating for the rear passengers.

Think is, the notion to get married quick isn’t just a line of thinking to the uber-religious. My ex-g/f’s friends, none of which I would at all describe in any way as religious, were harassing her about how we hadn’t moved in together after 6 months (3 actually declared as “exclusive”) and then at the one year mark,

It is unfortunate no enterprising governor hasn’t solved the lack of occupancy issue by simply just arresting the share-holders and owners of the prison corporations and putting them in their own jail. I’m sure between HLS rules and a few other stretches of the law, you could have a prison at overcapacity in no time

Meh on the extra 1-3mpg an auto ‘may’ give you. And on long trips, I’d rather be driving anyway (not a fan of being a passenger) and if my S/O couldn’t drive stick then I guess she’s stuck sitting shot-gun. Also, quit scape-goating your S/O for your automatic-loving ways.... (j/k)

Since you are the umpteenth person to bring this up, I have to ask what is it you need to store in your center console that you can’t already with the gear lever there? I have a very large hate for the column-stalk shifters in Mercedes and BMWs as they are annoying to use. I don’t mind that GM left their regular

Except that most of the time they end up not working anyway, so you are stuck with a stupid TPMS light blazing on your gauges.... Given the number of cars I see rolling around with obviously low tire pressure on a daily basis in relatively new cars, that light isn’t getting anyone to put air in their tires any more

I’ll respectfully disagree with your #10 comment. I could do without all three of those things in a car, as could nearly everyone (and most people did). Yeah, Trac might save your ass, but then maybe you were being an ass driving to begin with (speaking as an occasional ass driver). Living in 5 months of snow-weather,

GM has heard you and agrees, at least in their full-size trucks and SUVs.... Interestingly, having the shifter on the column is a complaint I read in EVERY review by auto journalists.... (at least the ones that publish on paper...)

Assuming that the manual lever would be ‘in the tree’ or out of the dash too, what would you use the space that consoles occupied? Or are you just wanting more storage in your centre consol?

...or buy a set of used aluminum rims for your snows. Lots to be found on ebay/craigslist....

Maybe, but I guarantee you I’d still want a manual, and if I had a 911 manual in the next garage bay over, the AMG would have a lot of dust on it. But then, I’d never buy a Mercedes in the first place. Personal opinion and all that.

Yeah, trucks when you are towing or plowing - autos make the most sense, but then generally you aren’t trying to pick off apexes of corners ‘just right’ in your 3/4 truck either.... well okay.. maybe sometime... but just rarely....

Really? I’m dreading the day I am going to buy a car and it is saddled with this idiotic device. Was it really that difficult to put key in the ingnician and turn it? I’ don’t mind remote locks on the FOB, but then that also means you never will lock your keys in the car that way either. Keyless entry/start seems just

Working backwards....

Given the previous gens of Navara were exactly the same as the NA market Frontier, I doubt Nissan will change it up this time around.
