I thought us Canadians were faced with a tough choice when we went to the polls back in October - the wannabe Republican vs the naive youth vs the Bearded madman vs the shut-out environmentalist. But when I look at your choices in your two parties vying for party leadership and then POTUS, I don’t envy you lot one

From second hand experience, the U.S. doesn’t tend to care if your visa is valid or not in denying continued residence in it’s borders. Simply hopping into Canada for a week long ski trip is enough to have your visa become void even if no such restriction was on it to begin with.

Because it goes against his argument.

It’s still fraud. But then I guess that isn’t a big deal in the U.S. (see banks for reference). Just because their is little or “no” harm doesn’t make it okay.

The definition is only circular if the person using the term also defined it to make it a proper term. The term was defined by others before the conversation began. Therefore, using the definition isn’t circular logic at all. In your point of view, it might be inaccurate, but you saying it is and thus shouldn’t be

As an alleged lawyer, I will grant you that your day-to-day job is to spin semantics until people’s heads explode, however, as the definition of “Illegal” is noted above, you sir are wrong.

The math I’ve never undestood is what is used by people who lease a car for 3 years, then finance the buy-out for a further 4-5 years. If you are going to live with 8 years of car payments, why not just either a) buy the car in the first place or b) just lease a new car? Me, I always buy used, sometimes within

That photo is a thing of beauty. Can’t wait for snow to get back out on the slopes

I’ve never understood the logic behind leasing a used car, yet any time someone I know starts talking about doing just that and I suggest that they should either lease a new car or just buy a used one, they look at me like I’ve grown two heads and not leasing a used car would be dumb.

I’m actually liking the look of this new Civic, but will reserve final judgement for when I see them in the metal. That said, I really want to know why neither the coupe or sedan are not lift-backs? The profile of both (especially the coupe) scream lift-back:

Not any more. It’s now built in Michigan at the same plant as the ATS, since they now share platforms (The 5th gen shared platforms with the G8/Commadore, which was supposed to be built in Oshawa with the Camaro, before Pontiac got put 6 feet under).

I guess it depends on how you view the ramifications of pulling out of NAFTA. GM is doing the passive-agressive pull-out of Canada now, by slowly shutting down it’s Oshawa production one line at a time and moving it to the US or Mexico. I wouldn’t be surprised if by the end of the decade the only GM production left is

The interior (except for the steering wheel... like what is going on with that???) is really nicely designed, IMO. The outside though, is a complete failure. It honestly looks like a refresh of the current car, which wasn’t a beauty queen to begin with. The new Escalade looks more athletic than this car, which looks

Only if it is done in Gwen’s abandoned ska music style. Then it could be epic

That’s idiotic.

This metal ‘C’ channel on some metal posts is all that separates multi-lanes of traffic typically traveling at 120-130kph on the highway I drive on every day.

Hmmm... a Camiata? But yeah, that front overhang is insane. Still love me some Iroc convertable though...

I’ve always felt the reason why the idea of conservative governments being “good” for the military and the liberals were ‘bad’ was due to the quickness of the former to want to mobilize and send in troops vs the more restrained wait-and-see method the liberals tended to use. The former action would equate to funding

I’ll say that over the last 9 years, Harper had the steering crooked hard to the right, and was pushing the party more towards a ‘Republican’ style philosophy than previous. A lot of his policies and positions on topics wouldn’t have been out of place in an Republican platform (but yes he would still be fairly left

Regarding Veteran’s affairs issues (which are huge), hopefully this guy is able to correct some long-standing (decades) neglect. However, not all the blame can be place on the elected government - according to an interview I heard with a retired General a year ago, the biggest obstacle that no-one wants to talk about
