Here's the thing about Stephen King—- he has always, always been a feminist. Seriously, it comes across in all of his books so clearly. So it's understandable that he's upset by the way that the female characters he's created have been portrayed in movies (and not just this one, there have been some other doozies).
She's crazy talented and just lucky, I think. I heard her for the first time on the local alt radio station like six months ago, so it's not like the song was an overnight hit.
Think of it this way, if they pay up for the dog this time, what will people take next time? And how much will they want then? That could be a really dangerous cycle to start.
Oof. Yeah, I caught the pilot last night. It's basically like they combined the plot of Warlock with aspirations of being the next Supernatural. The writing was so, so bad. The "history" made me cringe. But, I stuck around for the next on, and the monsters look really decent. So I'm gonna delay judgement on this one.
Bless you.
Seriously. If only we could prevent all the "good boys" like this from ever getting into college, maybe then we'd see the number of college women who are raped start to go down. I give less than zero fucks for that little piece of shit.
Seriously. And I'm from a small Ohio town, too, so it's not like I'm commenting from NYC or anything. I think aside from the death threats and the yelling at small children, which is never okay, this town deserves everything it gets. Yes, it could have been any small town, but it was this one. So let's make an example…
Nope...still don't feel bad for the town. Not for the adults, at least. Why? Because so many of them stepped up to speak to journalists about the "innocent" "good" boys involved in this case. Take for example the boy who took that picture, above, where the victim was being dragged around. And he left the party after…
Yikes! That's one of the those names you have to change when you hit 18.
Welp... it's gonna be an awkward Monday. What with me trying to hide this huge ladyboner and all.
I think Winsome is such a cute name for a girl. You could call her Winnie!
That reminds me of another really popular name from back then, Deodat. Means gift of god in Latin, it's like a version of Theodore.
I went to school with three sisters named Faith, Hope and Chastity. We all felt so bad for poor Chastity.
Increase just sounds dirty to me. Like a reference to erections or something.
My grandmother is named Innocence! Her parents were Italian immigrants. Thankfully she had Frances as a middle name to fall back on. She's 86 and she still resents her name, lol. The kids in school used to call her Innie. She told me if I dared to name a kid after her, she'd come back and haunt me :) I really like…
It's not bad. I really, really enjoyed it. Don't let this negative review keep you from seeing it, io9's reviewers are terrible.
The thing about Insidious is - first of all, like kill bill, it's meant to be seen as one film in two parts. Second, while the jump scares are very effective, what's really meant to be scary about this is the "insidious" nature of what the characters are up against. It is sneaky and invasive, that's the big scare.
This one is just as good as the conjuring. Not as good as the first insidious, but not as bad as this reviewer makes it sound. This film was very self aware, the director loves to play with classic horror tropes. I swear to god, people who don't "get" horror movies should not review them.
Do give it a shot. Honestly, the io9 reviewers are just terrible at their job. It's like they have zero appreciation for the genre, and zero knowledge of how to properly review/analyze a film. If you liked the conjuring, you will like this.
