Directx 11 can not run on windows XP unless you port the code of directx 11 to directx 9 code. Windows xp supports dx9. Windows vista support dx10. Windows 7 supports dx11. Windows 8 will support direct x 11.1. Considering its running on an engine from 1999, its pretty impressive.

Neither crysis made full use of dx10 or dx11 in the case of crysis 2. Direct x 10 was a scam by microsoft. You could enable most options in dx9 on very high on crysis 1. It look identical as playing it in dx10. Crysis 2 dx11 was horrible. The only thing they did was add tessellation to the walls.

Believe it or not I thought New York was a great setting. I just loved the atmosphere of the game and the way it played out. I got crysis 2 for pc and ps3 for $40 each and it was a well spent $40. The only bad thing is that the dx11 patch was very late. Other than that crysis 2 was great for me.
