I’m a little confused about what role Disney actually plays in all of these films they’re taking credit for. I know that Disney doesn’t own Dreamworks, only markets and distributes for them, but they outright own Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios.

I’ll use the term ‘totes’ ironically, to annoy my daughter mostly, but never would I use it in a conversation where I’ll be quoted. But this is Joss Whedon, if you remind yourself that he was responsible for Buffy and Angel it kind of makes sense.
My understanding is that the movie isn’t following any previous comics storylines, the rumors are that after the mass destruction Superman was partly responsible for in Man of Steel, Batman sees Superman as a threat and confronts him. for reasons. DC/WB hasn’t released an official plot of all the who’s and what’s so…
If Luke has gone all hermit (like the rumors suggest) he wouldn’t come out to get some new skin grafted on
Yikes, so besides the four shows and teamup miniseries Marvel is putting out on Netflix there will be four more shows on broadcast. Is everyone ready for peak saturation?
Yeah, I gathered that, and don’t get me wrong, a good villian’s origin story can be just as compelling as a good hero origin, I just wasn’t too into kingpin’s
I’ll be honest, right around 2 and 3 I was pumped, but they focus in a little too much on Fisk’s personal life after that. And yeah, it plays into the plot, but I think they tried too hard to humanize Fisk when I just wanted him to be The Kingpin.
Gold star. You just connected the dots for me.
I like how all the explosions are like a call back to the original Jurassic Park. It’s these little head nods that really...uh... ..... and..
Don’t kid yourself, we’re not free by any definition of the word. But I agree with your sentiment
I know a lot of sober people who are clearly very unhappy with their life. The reason ‘addicts’ as you put them, lash out is because people like you feel worthy enough to pass judgment on a person because of things they enjoy doing. That judgement is usually hinged on some propaganda or legality involved, and those…
Addiction is by defenition a lack of self control. Someone who’s truly addicted to a substance or activity can’t just white-knuckle their sobriety. Condemning someone for having what amounts to a mental illness just shows your ignorance on the issues of addiction. I also would point out that you can’t really become…
I think it’s interesting that they’ll include the Defenders in an Avengers movie. I guess it shows that they have faith in their Netflix shows, but I really hope it’s more of a B-line story where we just see what they’re up to during the crisis, still in Hell’s Kitchen, but not working directly with the Avengers.
Wild Wild West probably.
A lot of people have no shame in displaying their bias against DC and for Marvel, but I gotta respect DC for doing their own thing. Brooding, maybe. Grimdark, yeah probably. But it's serious, and very different from its competitor.
I'd say for me it's digital media on a whole. I have somewhat of a collector's mentality, so I prefer buying the physical copy of stuff I like and arranging it all on a shelf with everything else.
I'm only 32, but I remember back when a movie was coming out, you'd maybe catch a trailer for it a few months out in the cinema, maybe catch a couple tv teasers if you watched tv often enough, and that was it . If I didn't go to the movies often enough, and didn't watch TV enough, I didn't know what was coming out or…
Man, how bad was Thor 2, I finally forced myself to watch it before AoU opens and it was really stupid. I wasn't too into the last two Iron Man's either, 3 was simply OK.
I have the same proble. I'm trying to return to comics and it's very difficult. I pretty much gave up on serialized super hero comics, but there are a handful I've found in the sci fi/fantasy realm that were easier to jump into.
I was a 90's boom comics reader, and my interest started with the spiderman and xmen cartoons. So I go to pick up some comics for each and what's going on? The clone saga and the age of apocalypse storylines. I was very confused, but kind of driven to figure out what was going on, so I scooped up as many back issues…
