But do you knit or make a point of reading the book before watching the movie/tv adaption?

To be fair, the 2009 Star Trek was his second movie as director, proceeded only by Mission Impossible 3. He has a ton of producer credits before then, but I'm not really sure what a producer does. And of course his TV directing. I think JJ had the misfortune of starting in TV, and it really shows in his films.

I think they're all D23 interviews from different publications. What I kind of thought they do is take an interview with so-and-so and just parcel bits and pieces out through the week. I really don't think there are daily updates for every film being made or considered, so you have to pad the column out a bit.

The only film JJ wrote was Super 8, otherwise he just wrote TV. I think he has a lot of potential as a director but he needs to hone his craft quite a bit. He reminds me of a kid who just got one of those big 64-count boxes of crayons and doesn't quite know how to use them all yet.

This truly is a Post-Dark-Knight era...

I think JJ is a good 'big picture' director but he's not so attentive to the details. ..like character development. But if he's to play a Kevin Fiege role he'd merely oversee the continuity of the franchise (in addition to directing, at the very least, Episode 7), and if they're doing these one-off character movies

Even without the sexual harassment you know they'll be targeted first. The majority of their market is teenage boys after all.

I think the reality of the numbers aren't important at all. It's a video game, and the main point of the game is to immerse the player in the world. Regardless of how many women are in the armed forces there are plenty of women gamers who can't enjoy the 'whole experience' of the game, as it were. Plus who cares if

Dangerous business putting them on the front line.. once they start their cycle the smell will completely give away their position. Also their not tuff n' stuff like us mens are... and they'll only have a rifle.. men have a rifle and a gun... so .. safer..

So wait, the game is being more inclusive towards all types of players but you're not satisfied because they weren't forced to do it through some 'major social movement'?

Serial killing is a white man's game. (Tasteless race joke wrapped in a pun...) It's probably cause our daddy's could afford to buy us breakfast!

Fact: Women do not commit violent crimes or have fantasized views of what a family is.

Also, the cases where the women kills her kids and NOT the husband wouldn't be included in these numbers.

Jesus, even the commercials are remakes.

they all look the same anyway. ...ahem...

You made some good points about the character arcs (or lack there of), I was surprised with how cliche everyone was. The kid who tells the "bed time story" where Matt Damon was a hippo, where it's about Max but, you know, innocent and not about Max. the bad guy who was just crazy and has no motivation besides

Never read the comics. She was pretty annoyingly useless in the cartoon though. I get that she was the audience surrogate, just like Rogue was in the X-men movies, but I didn't like her. and her stupid long coat. fireworks bitch. . sorry. sorry. I don't know why I'm bitter about it.

If it's one thing I've heard Marvel demand over and over again it's "Vin". Vin Vin Vin Vin, they're like a broken record over there.

I liked the first one too but I largely missed all of the hype and promotion leading up to it. Then I saw it on Netflix or something and it was pretty good. But based on all the press I've seen about the sequel I'm just not that excited about it. It feels like, DIRECTLY targeted to a testosterone-fueled teenage
