How long do you imagine writing the script for a 2 hour blockbuster sci-fi movie set in an imaginary far off world with multiple complex characters and situations while linking it to an existing franchise and setting up a film that can support sequels should take?

"But much to the delight of all the fanboys, I don't see myself being involved in Prometheus-er."

I think my only problem with this rationale is where do you draw the line? Why wouldn't violent movies have the same effect? What about songs that advocate violence or speak of it flippantly? I understand that the difference is that in these games you're more or less "pretending" to be the person firing the gun or

YES. I've seen him in too many sissy ass roles to take him seriously as Wolverine.

And after he just quit being a hit man, pieced himself back together in the belly of a shark, AND wrangled a bunch of snakes on a plane. the man is indestructible. Except back when the kids called him Mr. Glass...

I think it's a common problem in entertainment, not just Joss Whedon's work. It's such a white dominated industry that it's hard to get accurate representations of other cultures and races. You end up with stereotypes and token characters, or just no diversity whatsoever, because the people who direct it or write it

honey comb big, yeah yeah yeah.

My favorite case of this was in Jurassic Park when the Lex girl is 'hacking' into their network.

agree to disagree to agree then. The internet is no place for compromise!

I'm gonna drop that shit like a bomb at my next cocktail party.

I wont disagree that Amazing Spider-man had some pretty big flaws. Especially the plot points you mentioned. The Raimi flicks were more concise and focused storytelling, but I really don't like his directing style. Which was my biggest beef with the Raimi Spider-mans, too goddamn cheesy. There was an unnecessary

cause it'll contrast so nice when we're on the red planet. They're thinking ahead.

Yeah. But for everything they did wrong they still did more right than the Raimi Spider-mans'. I can't say enough bad things about those movies.

Hey, so catch me up on what happened with the clone saga stuff, you seem you have more information than I was left with. I started reading Spider-man comics I think just after all that stuff ended, so a lot of the back issues I bought were here and there during that whole story arch and I never knew how it exactly

I haven't read Spider-man comics in about a decade, so this is the first I'm hearing about this. It sounds super lame. If they did this back when I was buying 4 or 5 Spider-man books a month I could see being frustrated with the prospects of 1+ years of reading a format that's so fundamentally different than what I

yeah, i don't think all black is the least bit interesting. They could have at least kept the color scheme and just updated the look. But if they stayed true to his comic book design that mask he wore would have looked ridiculous on film. And the bright yellow undies...

I do think he still could look cool using a more muted green and yellow color scheme though, without having to do the cop-out 'i'm a badass in black' routine.

There is no possible way I could take Electro seriously in a movie if he wore his traditional comic book garbs. You need to reformat a little to fit the medium or else it'll just feel like a Comic-Con. I did miss the Lizard's snout in the last movie though, didn't think that much re-design was necessary for him, but,

I like when there's a sense of history without actually having to go to history class. Those characters get half of their credibility from you not knowing very much about them. If they did a whole SHIELD movie it'd be some after-the-fact money grab, like when they force a prequel to happen. It could be cool as a more

Holy shit, Benedict Cumberbatch's voice is so intense in this. There has to be some processing done to that vocal track.
