Pretty much everyone in the movie kills it. When Sarris says “He doesn’t understand. Speak to him as you would a child.” it could have been delivered in a generically evil or menacing way, but instead he does it with this mocking contempt that feels very real.

Colantoni gives probably the best performance of the film, which is pretty amazing given how this features some of the best acting Tim Allen’s ever done (not saying too much), as well as amazing performances from Tony Shalhoub, Sigourney Weaver, Sam Rockwell, Rickman, etc.

The problem is, between his initial fraud, and that insane speech he gave at sentencing, he’s such an unstable factor, that if I were a producer or publisher, I’d be afraid to work with him for fear that he might disrupt the project or sue or do something if he’s in any way displeased.
