I was born in the middle of the boomer cycle. I could see my two hardworking, lower-middle-income parents throwing us a “welcome to summer” party. More like “suck it up, get outside and play - be home by dark”

That’s what I do (use a perpetual license). They come out with a new major version soon after Apple drops a new major macOS version (so one every year). However, your existing version of Parallels will usually work fine across at least two version of macOS - so you can get a couple years out of the cheaper license…

My example:  I need to put together a list of supplies to be ordered yearly.  Ink and print heads for our poster printer for example.  When I go to amazon and search for “print heads for HP XYZ Printer” and click on one of the correct items - the URL is way longer than it needs to be with all the extra crap Amazon…

Because if you get the $100 annual sub and they release Parallels 17 during that year, you get the upgrade free. If you get the $80 “perpetual” license, you get to keep using V16 as long as it’ll run on your machine, but no free upgrades.
