I’d love to do that with my landline number that I’ve had since 1985 (was Verizon, now Time Warner) - but Google will only let you port a cell number. So I’d have to buy a cheap cell phone - port my landline to it, then port the number from that cell to Google. Seems like lots of room for error in there.

Why would you need to buy a new Chromebook every year? I’ve had my Acer C720 going on 3 years now (bought as a factory refurb for $150 back then) and it still runs Chrome just fine.
