This is really mind-boggling, because even if the mother HAD lied about her ex being abusive and then convinced the kids to lie, too*, that’s not the kids fault, so either way it’s punishing children for having a shitty parent.

Cats eating popcorn is actually pretty common, I think. (I’m not a crazy cat lady, I swear, but my family always had cats growing up so I’ve seen them do a lot of weird things, and plenty ate popcorn)
