"So, in order for your story to work, there would have to be something that forces the time traveler to build the time machine to deposits the money."

Last things first- Multiple universes, and worse, parallel universes. I've stated my case already- too ridiculous a concept to be taken seriously, and completely unsupported by evidence or any real solid theory. I have nothing new to add.
They're behind the times. The world is passing them by.
The reality is that they tell themselves they're helping the people they hate WITH their hate. It's like making fun of a fat person because you think that will help push them to have a healthier lifestyle. It's a delusion.
That's like saying you don't hate African Americans, you just think brown skin is a sin. When it's impossible to remove the thing you hate about a person from that person, you're hating the person.
"There is a HUGE assumption in this question - that history is linear. Why does it have to be?"
"Nothing in science is real. There are no definites. That is the most basic premise of the scientific theory. What we think to be true will be considered true until something better comes along."
"Actually, every time you have a quantum event, the universe is duplicated. That means any time any particle in a state of quantum superposition interacts with any other matter outside its local entangled system, collapsing the wave function, the universe is duplicated."
Like I said to Lost_island, It doesn't matter if time travel is possible or not- changing history is definitely impossible, as proven (proved?) by simple logic. Causality is a real, simple thing, and it occurs even in the case of time travel.
Fun in entertainment is fine, but there's a degree to which you turn your brain off- suspension of disbelief. It differs depending on the story, genre, target audience. But in science fiction it should skew pretty close to what we know about science and LOGIC.
Here we go again.
Subscribed on Instacast on my iPhone. Fun show! It somehow reminded me of the old Sci Fi Channel show The Anti Gravity Room. I've often wished there was something like that on TV to cover sci fi stuff (that wasn't mired in G4 clutter and Munn). Maybe it time you guys will expand the show, get a bigger team, more…
Yes, but unfortunately they have plenty of bubble gum.
But Next Gen does not exist in the Abrams timeline. That's all I said.
No, it's just silly. The Mirror Universe is the silliest of all. I love the fun stories they did on TOS and DS9 in the Mirror U, but even as a kid I knew that a universe where all the people had the same jobs but were "evil" was not explainable by anything other than entertaining TV storytelling.
A superhuman Starfleet officer points more to Gary Mitchell (or someone new), not someone from the 20th century Eugenics War.
What are you basing this assumption on? Why should we think the story has anything to do with Space Seed or the Eugenics Wars anymore?
