I don't remember Vitale saying a whole lot about VCU in 2011. I do remember Bilas going on and on about how they were a bad team and didn't deserve an at-large bid. I generally like Bilas but he will never admit when he is wrong (VCU, Harrison Barnes being an instant legend, Josh Smith being a terrible draft pick

Vitale loves Duke and Coach K. He also loves all traditional basketball blue bloods, their coaches (Roy, Calipari, Bill Self, etc), and popular underdogs like Gonzaga, VCU, and Butler. In other words, he is a huge front runner, and Duke is an easy team to support as a front runner since they have been in the top 10

How is Šarūnas Marčiulionis playing for the Pathetic Americans?

This would make sense if the two Russian players were the ones organizing suicide bombings in Jerusalem, recruiting for Hamas, etc. But they're not. They're soccer players who seem to be doing a reasonably good job on the team.

Am I seeing this right? Is Timofey Mozgov wearing a Barack Obama mask?

Nice

Gonzaga will definitely be 1. I expect Duke to be 4, after Indiana and the surging Georgetown team

Sean, what's the end game here? I see you guys didn't run Dead Letters last week. Is this just an attempt at baiting Duke fans to fill up a segment of Dead Letters, kind of like what happened with Notre Dame fans in the run-up to the BCS title?

Emma is going to have nightmares of the Blue Devil, Coach K, and Ryan Kelly doing the (inauthentic) Harlem Shake all night.

This is a clever comment that deserves more than just this +1

George Huguely the Fifth wanted to finish everything off with a blast, but he couldn't.

I'll say what everyone else is thinking. How the hell did the refs let Evans get away with such a blatant travel?

Shedding light on possible sources of terribleness, although if I had to guess (and I don't know the guy at all), he really does believe Deadpsin's article could have been improved by some meaningless quotes from Te'o and/or Notre Dame. And the Girl Scout cookie joke went over his head.

I usually don't read interviews because they are nothing more than glorified PR, but I'm really glad I clicked this link. One of the more contentious interviews I've read in a while, and I think Craggs and Scocca both dealt with the questions in a clever way, even if their frustration was obvious.

I don't disagree with your post, but a guy like Virgil made way more money in wrestling than Nigel McGuinness. Ring of Honor is well respected, but probably pays 1/10th as much as NWO-era WCW.

They sponsored the soccer team back in the 1990s, back in the days when teams weren't all sponsored by betting sites.
