The twitching continues. He holds a pencil doing the tic, his gameboy doing the tic, opens the door doing the tic.

You made me laugh out loud with that bit about your brother! The only thing I disagree with is that it's not a disease; until someone can say for certain what the pathophysiology is I think we can agree that it is caused by chemicals but how and why are still unknown.
We are going to be heading to NYU soon so that my sons can both take part in an imaging study. The advances in imaging technology over even the last few years has apparently been enough that they're now going to try to track down *exactly* what the differences (and similarities) are in the brains of children with TS…
Oh, I don't believe for a second they are faking it - though I did read about this pretty in depth and the articles I've come across plainly state that the one girl at least has actually been diagnosed with Tourette's.
Well, it's a short story so I'll tell it...he threw me in a pond.
I'm a pro photographer and whenever someone asks me to recommend something for their family pics/garden pics/etc I always tell them the Panasonic Lumix. It's a great camera for the price.
That I don't know, however I'll thank you for the promote all the same.
My 10 year old with TS says it feels like an electric worm sliding down his spine - interesting that his description is so close to yours!
The hand tic is a big one. At TS camp they're all randomly twitch their fingers but my son's hand tic looks exactly like he's shooting a Spider Man web.
As a mom of a 10 year old with TS I think that it's disingenuous of you to make it seem as if it's 'curable'. It is not a curable disease. You can lessen those things which produce the symptoms (the tics, the OCD, etc) but you will always see periods where those tics come back.
There is no known decisive cause of TS yet. There are multiple studies at the moment, a few of which my son is in, to find the gene(s) responsible and the prevailing belief among research scientists is that there is a process in which someone inherits the gene(s) which can allow it to happen but an environmental…
I'm married to a man with Tourette Syndrome, have a ten year old son with a moderate to severe case and a seven year old that is close to diagnosis (In case you were wondering, yes, there's a hereditary component to TS).
I have gotten back into a relationship with the person who raped me twice. I've spent the last two years asking myself what's wrong with me that I could do that. So thank you for coming forward because I feel so much relief at knowning I'm not alone.
It's literally the family bathroom - there's very little time when there aren't at least three people in there at once. Someone's in the shower, someone's brushing their teeth and someone is peeing.
While I do swoon before the Great George and his delicious potty mouth, it's Tilda I'd take out on a date given half the chance!
Amen to that! I'm sure my quite happy and well adjusted husband wouldn't mind...right?!
I still think he's ridiculously beautiful. And gorgeously sullen!
I just caught this little bit of commentary 'it was just a speech, not too great, not too bad...average' ~eye roll
Okay it's totally the wine talking but Anthony Hopkins being all sullen and intellectual makes me hot.
