I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, “Smile! You’re alive because your mother didn’t believe in abortion.” I wanted to ram the back of his car and jump out and yell, “YES SHE DID YOU DONKEY! SHE BELIEVED IN IT AS A CHOICE A WOMAN SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE!” Sorry for yelling, just...don’t speak for my mother,

Lol what??

we’ve cum so far, but we still have far to go.

Thank you for this. It’s exactly what I was thinking. I was raped and stabbed (fortunately not life-threateningly) in college, and it is so hard to explain to people that complete sense of detachment. There I was with a stranger attacking me in my apartment, and all I kept thinking was how mad at me my boyfriend would

Even the Daily Mail commenters dismissed people who said the same as you and understand why she acted that way, and her own father said that he feels the most quilty because he basically taught her to be submissive and slave to any men. And her family was full of religious lunatics who intodruced people like this who

Yeah, but given the kidnapping reference it’s a pretty shitty/unfunny joke to make about Elizabeth Smart becoming a mother.

I saw a show this morning about a mother and daughter who were kidnapped for months. The mother kept taking the rapes and living with her daughter, chained in a closet. But when he took them out somewhere, they just couldn’t run at first. They just couldn’t do it. They were that afraid of him.

I’m an atheist and my observation has been that Smart is one tough cookie, not some brain-washed religious freak. You might want to inform yourself a bit more about her before making another dumb ass comment.

The same reasoning can be used for healthcare. I’m healthy, I exercise, I eat a balanced diet, I don’t smoke, I don’t sit in the sun - why should I pay for others’ treatments for conditions like lung cancer, skin cancer, and obesity-related problems?

It is really insensitive and rude to be making this kind of joke in the article about woman who gone through hell, kidnapped, prisoned and then molested for almost a year. And please can we have one just one article about horrible tragedies, raping and killing happening to women without rude sarcastic jokes and gifs

Because you are a member of society. Even if you don’t have children, reproduction is necessary for society to function. When you are 90 years old, younger people who were once babies will be your doctors, your nurses, your cooks, your plumbers, etc.

What is it with people that randomly flip on the “IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, LEAVE” mentality when people criticize America? I guarantee you that people don’t flip out like that in Canada, for instance.

Pack yourself up and leave, you asshat. I’m not any less an American than you are, just because I would like our country to be a decent place to live.

Ugh, I hate this so much. A pregnant woman going about her day is not flaunting her belly! She's just existing. It's as though they can't see woman as existing other than to please and present to others.

thank god I’ve never done anything crazy, but I’ve definitely had weird text conversations I don’t remember until someone mentions it and I look at my phone and go “....... whoa.” this includes telling a friend that I was going to go to sleep, so she should switch over to texting me on my “dream phone”(?) that

Yeah we’re devout Catholics who don’t have birth control we don’t know our own laws so let an internet commenter who doesn’t know them either lecture us on how we’re allowed to feel about things.

I know where you’re coming from (I really do) but that comes off a touch condescending. We’re trying. Jesus we’re trying. Believe me when I tell you that the vast vast majority of Irish people were/ are horrified by stories like that. Polticians are cowards the world over though and are reluctant to touch the issue.

I know you have gotten a ton of responses, but to me the red flags here aren’t the situation, but how you write about it. If you were in the headspace to have a casual, fun affair with a married guy in an open relationship your post would not have been the rambling messof trying to convince yourself you are not going

Whoa, I promise you the response you’re getting here aren’t because we’re all into tired gender norms. It’s because we’ve either been somewhere similar or have had someone we love be there.

I’ve had my own drunken episodes in public, too many to share, but I’ll share this:
