SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

I don't know if you saw Top of the Lake, but I wouldn't call Robin (Moss's character on that show) 100% noble. Yes, she's trying to solve a crime against a child, but she does glass a dude in the chest and exhibit some questionable judgement at best. Holly Hunter's character GJ isn't exactly "noble" either, but fairly

You guys don't have that in the US? Everyone dances to music on their headphones.

Well, I've learned something and will pay attention if I see comparisons cropping up again.

Or maybe I didn't process it, because I was young and didn't know much about Israel & Palestine? I dunno.

Thanks for the info. Admittedly, I don't listen to debates in the Dail, and I no longer live in Northern Ireland, so I may have missed discussions triggered by the latest Israel & Palestine flare-up. But I did live in Belfast for 18 years without ever seeing a reference to Gaza, Palestine or Israel in the papers, wall

There actually isn't, although there's a silent disco.

Zoo Lates are taking place in broad daylight in the summer; therefore the tigers are probably asleep all day AND all evening - because they're primarily nocturnal.

Lots of people do, but one drunk-enough and stupid-enough person can cause quite a problem. Presumably the vast majority of Zoo Lates-goers are no problem, or the event would never have got off the ground.

Maybe museums attract a more cultured crowd, or the atmosphere puts a crimp in rowdier behaviour?

...really? I'm a Northern Irish Protestant by birth, and I can say with 99% certainty that I have never ever heard an Irish politician or individual so much as mention the words "Palestine" or "Israel". I'm not saying you're wrong, I've just never seen this be mentioned!

Heh, they pretty much live in whatever orientation they damn well please for the first 6 months or so (while they have room, they flip all the time). They turn head-down - if you're lucky - 4-6 weeks before the birth.

The thing is, I don't think enough people in tech care yet. I even think many of them actively like perpetuating "their space", where they don't get shown up by those icky girls, and deliberately alienate and harass women.

I choose to believe that they are actually being inspired by Esme Weatherwax.

Honestly, I'm not quite sure what you expected to hear...?

Okay, great. But that's your choice, which you should have the freedom to make for you, not one which a boss or hiring committee should make.

I kind of can't make sense of your comment. (Rabbit ears?) For starters, maternity leave is not a "holiday", as such. And it's not gaming the system to try and time things so you can legitimately take as much leave as possible. It's working within the system. Besides, babies come when they damned well feel like it, so

Er, yeah, the public site. I had a profile, and so did my PA and the receptionist.

...because flight attendants don't take breaks during flights?
Here in London bus drivers also take breaks during a route. Drivers will swap on and off at a stop, which takes about 90 seconds.

it's not something I particularly want to see when I'm going to get my yoghurt.
