I love Wolfe's work and yes, the Longsun series is a bit of a grind but I could never put it down. As hard as they were, and I read the New Sun series my freshmen year in highschool, I couldn't help be stay engaged. They all just kept sucking me right back in anytime I tried to step away.

I sincerely hope that's the case for my wife as well... though she thoroughly loved Heir to the Empire :-(
