A lot of really little changes bothered the heck out of me, mostly because I couldn't see any real reason to change them.

I've been out of the program for years now, but UCLA's Materials Science program is pretty bad ass. Some of the best stocked labs in the country along with some of the most brilliant faculty in the world for this kind of thing. I'm not terribly familiar with MOFs, but I believe it.

The problem isn't with touchscreens, per say, but RIM's implementation of them in the past. If the screen isn't the size of a postage stamp you don't cover up info as you move through the UI.

You're exactly right. This is why there is zero differentiation in laptops, televisions, etc and brands are meaningless in those markets...
