Oh look, a reasonable, adult response to an unfortunate situation. How refreshing. Maybe this will catch on. I won't hold my breath.

haha no doubt about that, it definitely is what the production cars should have been.

That was a show car, not a preproduction prototype.

There is no real argumant against Travis' points, but according to the many worlds theorem, there is in a fact a universe where these monsters never existed, and everyone drives sporty, quick, efficient wagons because that's all automakers will sell because that's all anyone should drive. I want to live in that

Overheard in the GM lobby, circa 1974:

A hybrid Vette would be awesome. I am so damn tired of morons trying to hold the Vette back. Between the fans that just want GM to build the same car over and over again, the undereducated little internet trolls who have never even driven one but universally declare it crap, the leering schlubs who think because I DD

So.....we're....not voting for the corvette, correct?

Escalade Vsport is the most fun idea, IMO. 2" drop, upsized brakes, AWD, and an LSA-equivalent LT1 to chase the competition from SRT, M-Sport, and AMG. Interior on a real carbon fiber diet in an effort to drop pounds and four recaros out of a sister CTS-V. Certainly not ideal for a track but one nutso automobile.

I think the idea of this being about bragging rights is shortsighted. When you find yourself in a situation where you are doing something this far beyond keeping up with the Joneses, it's not about insecurity—it's about doing something awesome. In this case, it's about the moment they dyno'd it the first time and got

I'm really enjoying watching Toyota lose its way.

What's the plan from here? Will you be back next year?

Industry rule of thumb has traditionally been 15% parasitic losses, through drivetrain friction and accessory load, but as these systems have developed and become more efficient the actual power lost is generally below that. I wouldn't be surprised if GM's claims are consistent with crank HP, indicating approx. 11%

My money's on it being nothing. Gonna be some design student playing around.

Can't be Heisenberg; a banks engine is never the one who knocks.

Couldn't decide to include it or not since it wasn't really made in-house. But it's definitely awesome.

[Lighthearted complaint about being passed over for the nod once again]

[Comment that says the same exact thing as someone that commented 5 minutes ago and is 5 posts above mine, but is being repeated because I didn't read the other people's comments.]

[Overused canned internet meme response]

[Simply stated, rational response that will inevitably be burned up in the coming flamewar]
