The 1.4t wont let you get the 7in dash screen, nicer radios, tow package (given I guess), leather seats, dual climate, etc. Things you can add later I guess, but alot of people won’t bother. Things that also help resale.

You don’t want a 2.4 manual, the 1.4T is way more fun of an engine than the 2.4 is. The real problem is (atleast for the renegade) all of the real options require you to move to the 2.4 and 9 speed.

I think it was purely a gameplay choice given the online multiplayer aspect and easily written off as plausible due to the timeline of the game. It predates the other games by long enough that any damage these nukes do probably doesn’t matter long term.
