I'm probably alone here, but I dislike the coupe look. The wagon looks good, the sedan looks good, but the coupe looks stupid.

Looks like something outta Silent Hill. The video game, people. Not the stupid movie adaptation.

I see it, and I think: Tempo, you have done well.

I think the only thing that would make this picture more complete would be a 1988 Ford Tempo somewhere in the mix.

I doubt this will mean the end of reputation damaging compacts from Korea.

I think old Detroit iron is most certainly worth mentioning.

Remember those 150+ cars stuck in a snow storm? Yeah. Nobody bitches about that, but when a train stalls its a pr disaster on the scale of Hurricane Katrina.

@jeepfreak: Not everyone is an off roader. In fact, I am sure very few people will ever take a Compass or Escape to its limit. Sure, the .5% of Jeep drivers that do offroad will be offended. But in the car industry, its the numbers that count. And for that .5% or whatever the number it is, they've got Jeep CJs to

@duurtlang: Not necessarily. Most wagons don't offer all wheel drive unless you can afford a German import. You also don't get the kind of headroom or loadroom a small crossover like the Compass offers.

We take comfort knowing no Ford Tempo was sacrificed for cash for clunkers, as they just barely were ineligible.

I dig it. Its handsome, well proportioned, and it doesn't have the over exaggerated fender flares and side cladding that all American cars seem to have these days.

Virgil Exner kicks Earl's ass any day of the week. Exner had more chrome on his cars, if you can imagine such a thing.

Very cool. I wanna do this in my lifted Tempo.

I can one-up the small truck. I've got an F-150 and a Tempo. Like a compact truck, without the draw backs.

@Awesome X: For its time and nation of origin, it handled very well. I will have you know, pal, Tempo was so ahead of its time that it's competitors (namely, J-Bodies) didn't adopt Tempo's style of suspension setup until 1995, 11 years after Tempo introduced its fully independent suspension, McPherson strut design,

Only a man such as Jackie Stewart has the class and driving experience to make such statements. Yet the internet enthusiast has the audacity to insult and debase Ford Tempo? What, pray tell, makes the man who insults the Ford Tempo better than Jackie Stewart?

The W-Bodies are pretty forgettable, offering nothing of either importance or excitement to the industry. The J-Bodies were equally as boring as the W-Bodies, only smaller in size and more rustic. I figure cars like the Aveo and Sebring will become classic only because they were so awful (and unforgettable).

Theres is no such thing as too much chrome.
