@500wishes: Indeed, Tempo filled a niche not occupied by any modern Ford. The well-appointed, high-quality compact family four door. Today, compact cars are associated only with bare-and-basic transport for the masses. To quote the 1993 Ford Tempo marketing division platform:

@blackfriday490: Maybe mine was a lemon. Everything from the transmission to the glove box lid either fell off or broke. Dare I say, it is part of the reason I became a Ford guy.

I didn't really get 'into' cars until I happened upon the 1989 Ford Tempo AWD I now drive daily. Even then, after the discovery of said car, I didn't yearn for any other. That car was and is the only car I need and want.

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Its just that, Tempo is just too good. I mean, I can afford to drive it everywhere everyday. I want Prickstine to win. Make it happen Murilee!

The only thing that could possibly make this situation any stranger would be if the trailer were made from a Datsun. I've seen pickup-truck-bed-turn-trailers made from Datsun beds. Strange choice, given how susceptible they are to the Rust Monster.

@BrtStlnd: Ya'll making me not like Jalopnik. :[

At the risk of sounding like the biased, one-sided Ford Tempo Fanatic I am...

brb while I go drive my Lincoln LS clear across that mess.

Can't go wrong with a used F-150, pre-1992.

1992.

Very handsome car, gold/brown paint and all. I'll have to show my girlfriend this thing, she's looking for a car and her criteria is simply this: has to be from the 1980s.

@MaWeiTao: You forget sir, that for every horse power gained you gain weight. Its becoming a law these days.
