@Polk High All City 1966: Where do you live? Ford Tempos equipped with all wheel drive are very area-oriented, as are Tempos in general actually. By far, Tempo AWD is the most common Tempo 'round these parts. Even more so then the economy model (GL). Same can be said for Northwestern Canada. This in contrast to, say,

You see the light, Murilee.

@ishigakisensei: Compare our rail transit networks to those of Europe, Japan? Forget about it. NYC is really the only major U.S. city with any form of dedicated rail system, and its all local. No long distance whatsoever.

Every time I hear anything related to commercial air travel, it reminds me just how much better railways are. Or were, I should say.

Woah, a new car my Ford Tempo might actually be faster then?

Any 'Forward Look' Chrysler, Dodge, or Plymouth.

Ford Crown Victoria. The last grand stand for true American style and raw car-ness.

I am scared.

@XRFlip05: Because none of the cars Lexus or Scion offer are any different from their Toyota counterparts. They're just spruced up and stripped down Toyota's, respectively.

@Oh no! It's wojo!: If ya don't like the Aveo vs. Fiesta argument, lets bring out the Impala vs. Taurus or Silverado vs. F-Series.

@Lost in the age of Aerostar: I would agree with you there, but I've gotta bring up the fact that Chevy just unveiled what is supposed to be the Ford Fiesta fighter. Its a Korean built, thinly disguised Daewoo with nothing going for it other then a cheaper MSRP then the other guy.

GM ain't dead yet. Bleeding, choking on its own guts, and being kicked around like the nerd at school, but there's still hope.

Anyone else notice that the car directly behind the Torino is a 1988-1991 Mercury Topaz? Its either an LS or a GS optioned up with the fancier hub caps.

@87CapriceEstate: I think a lot of it has to do with how well that venerable four speed automatic worked with the Caravan's I4. There is nothing good to say about those 4spd. GM transmissions, which aren't just innefficient and choppy on the upshifts, but one lasting more then 100k is something to be very proud of.

@bsoft: Now ask anyone here if I know more about the Ford Tempo then you, and I think the answer will be unanimous in my favor.

@87CapriceEstate: Whats kind of sad is how the Venture has a 3.4L V6, whereas our Caravan's had four cylinder powerplants. The 'Vans were far more nimble, fuel efficient, even faster. Despite the smaller engines. I like that in a car. Its like the David-and-Goliath effect, spitting in the face of the Bow Tie aficondo

There will come a day when the Ford Tempo is hailed as a piece of history, a work of art. With its big blocky push button controls and its big knobs.

@Blix: Nah, better. An AWD. Loaded to the hilt with every available option of the time except A/C.
