@SlowMo -the anti-star: Hey, does anyone remember when Saturn was a "Different king of car company"? Heh, hehe.

@BЯдΖǐL-ЯЄРΘЯΤЄЯ: While I posses many fond memories of being driven to school in my grandparent's then-new 1989 Tempo, most of which are full of marvel at the futuristic layout of the interior where everything was powerized or motorized.. I do too have a soft spot for the 740 wagons and other brick-shaped Volvo

The front is a little funky, but that is one fine ass. Nonetheless, I'll stick with the old faded granny blue 740 wagon.

@pauljones: Events, yes. More what I was referring to however, was what those specific events represent.

Oh no that is smart. Build your bread and butter compact economy car at only one plant. No that totally seems legit. But hey, as long as we've got every other plant churning out Suburbans and Silverados we're all good.

Oh well. At least we'll have Chinese Hummers.

@joegibes: Ah but for me, the G8 will be synonymous with three separate entities:

@ironghost: Hey now, seems to me most Jalopnik posts favor GM. Come on. The majority of persons who regular Jalopnik have fetishes for El Caminos.

@Van Sarockin, rogue trebuchet: Things have been busy, what can I say. Girls, cars, family and friends, work get in the way at times. Working overtime to pay off the $2,100 I spent in suspension work on the old Tempo.

That is incredible. I'm going to have to tell my girlfriend (who is obsessed with the musical arts) about this. No doubt, she will look at the new Taurus with much more affection knowing its designers were listening to her favorite artist (Citizen Cope).

That is possibly the most awesome delivery van in the world. The only way this could be any more awesome would to actually use it as a delivery van.

Alan is so dreamy.

In regards to China and brand images, they need to just stop ripping designs from other cars. Then make their own, unique vehicles, and maybe they'll be successful.

It seems to me, there are now more Fords on this list then I remember.

Almost any car of the late 1950s had interesting and unique tail lamp designs, but none more so then the 1959 Imperials. As a runner up, I'm going for the 1988 to 1991 Ford Tempo. Yes. With a single piece assembly, the trunk lid didn't cut into the tail lamp design at all. This left you with a gap/mark free tail lamp.

@Gearhead_42: That 1985 Ford Tempo GL Diesel Coupe will be mine!

Do you realize what this means? The only American automobile manufacturer that won't be under bankruptcy protection, is the very same automobile manufacturer that made Ford Tempos. I am moderately proud of that fact, even though the Tempo has absolutely nothing to do with Ford staying afloat.

Anything that is not the TR-Type Cast Aluminum Wheels found standard on the 1986 and 1987 Mercury Topaz Sport GS, and optional on 1985 Topaz Sport GS, and 1984 Ford Tempo GL, LX, and GLX.

In my 1989 Ford Tempo, with its standard power locking gas filler door, I need not worry about theft-of-gas when the SUV owners of the world begin their hunt now that gas is steadily creeping upwards. $2.87 today.
