@MaxSmart32: Please, 110,000? The lowest Tempo year was 190,000 units in something like nine months of 1994 when it was discontinued. 1984? Over 500,000 units. By the end of its run over three million were sold in North America alone.

Ah yes and another thing. The V6 was an after-thought. You should have gone for the four cylinder. Tempo was designed to perform at its best equipped wit the 2.3L I4 and ATX combo. The V6 came as a result of dumb-ass competitors starting to offer six cylinders in their compact economy cars for God only knows what

I am incredibly insulted. Nah, just jokin'.

So what happens to all these Corvette/CTS/Camaro-powered performance cars from all over the world when GM bites the dust?

Thats stranger then seeing a 1984 Ford Tempo haul a full-size U-Haul.

Somehow, for some reason, I am content with my 1941 International Harvester Model A1A. Sure its not as fancy as that whatever-it-is, but it gets the job done whenever its called upon.

That grill could have been ripped of a 1957 Edsel.

@Slant,sick with the DOTS DTs: I had an F-150 of that era. Fully loaded Oxford White 1994 XLT, regular cab with the long box. 4WD w/ low range and manual locking hubs. I gotta say, I like my current '94 Chevy K2500 better. That 302 was gutless, and I prefer a manual.

They are probably saying. "Damnit Ford, we need more Tempo."

@Slant,sick with the DOTS DTs: So do I, but its not like Audi or Toyota offer anything much more improved over Chevy or Ford. They're all equally hard to work on, and all equally cheap and plastic.

@ctdubbin: I didn't really take into account the performance aspect. I will say in the 90s we saw significant improvements in sports cars and trucks over the 1980s. Same with trucks and sport utility vehicles in general, however, I was talking more mainstream sedans and such.

If I wanted to live in a place where pedestrians are more important then automobiles, I'd have moved to England a long time ago.

@Slant,sick with the DOTS DTs: I do not like Chevrolet, or most anything made by General Motors. But come on, you gotta admit the new CTS-V and Corvette ZR1 are (at the least) impressive.

@Van Sarockin: Or an extremely awesome commute. Every day.

@engineerd: Can I get mine in red, white, and blue?

@steelwheels: I feel this is true for those last vehicles left over from the Malaise-era. Stuff like the Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. But I look at my '89 Ford Tempo and I get exactly the opposite feeling. It wants to keep going, and all it needs is a little tender loving care.

Wait. So Ford has been saved? Last I checked (last night) the world, and Ford, were over.
