@engineerd confused n00b: Same thing Ford did to Tempo as well, and what they're doing to Focus at this very moment! The Tempo was originally a class-leading economy car, but Ford let it die on the vine through the years with a couple of face lifts and new grills but no significant updates. The real blow happened when

Ford Ranchero please. Or maybe the 1958 Plymouth Fury (or Belvedere).

Will Saturn really be missed? The Outlook is just a GMC Acadia/Buick Enclave, and the Sky is a Pontiac Solstice. The Aura is a Malibu with a new face. The Astra is really their only true model, and I've heard its not all that great.

@Murilee Martin: I have no idea how I missed that! I always try and scan the cars to see if there are any Tempo or Topaz.

@DoctorNine: Gotta imagine the Audi would be better and probably more expensive, but it would be a close call in fuel efficiency and performance. I've always felt the U.S. needs more wagons!

From the side it looks like a Subaru. Very nice though.

I'm torn between the Caravan and Fairlane.

@RegalRegalia is the AntiChrysler: Well thats quite the bummer, because GM probably has more models then any other auto manufacturer. Except maybe Tata? Maybe I'll move to Canada until GM is either profitable or, God forbid, gone.

@acarr260: Well, there is an '85 Tempo GL Coupe with a stroked 418 Ford big block thrown in and a RWD conversion..

So. How many bailouts will it take for GM to have enough money to continue operations?

My Dad's got a F-150 with a Modular V8. Incredibly reliable. In 300,000 miles its never been out of service. Now that is reliability.

Very nice. Anyone know why this car (and others) have those vertical lines running down the headlamps? Any purpose, or just a styling touch?

Those wheels, they disgust me. Almost more sickening then that horrendous ass. I'm sorry, I'll keep my twenty year old Ford economy car. You couldn't give me one of those monstrosities. Okay, I lie. You could give it to me. I'd drive it for a week or so then sell it and buy about 50 Ford Tempos and a 1957/1958

Its because everyone on the intrewebz is a bad-ass 7ft. tall awesome super hero.

I try not to pay attention to gas prices. Especially national prices, because even when gas was cheap it was still expensive in AK. Whatever it is in the Lower 48, add $.50 to $1.00 and you've got our prices.

That is an epic description of Winnie the Pooh.

I am a big fan of 1950's rear-ends. My favorites being any 1957 or 1958 "Forward Look" Plymouth, especially the Fury. I love the over the top Cadillacs and Imperials, but the Plymouth was sort of just the right amount of flare and style.

@Van Sarockin: I've driven many a Ford product. The new Focus, Five Hundred, F-Series trucks of every generation except the first, many Explorers, and even several Lincolns. I dunno, they just don't bring a smile to my face like the Tempo does. I think a lot of my affection towards this unreliable piece is due to my

@Tiberiuswise: Yeah, they certainly aren't roomy. My head is less then a quarter of an inch from the roof. Although, I do like how their roof line appears lower then the Chevy Cavalier of the same time. Makes them look better up close in my opinion. I have only once gotten my '89 to chirp its tires. That was on a wet

It saddens me Chrysler is on their way out. It makes me feel even worse that their products are mediocre at best, and thats what people will remember them by. At least, my generation will.
