I thought that motor was developed from the Tag yes Tag from Tag Huer, that was actually a Porsche block in the McLaren cars... Well that was a 90 degree v6.. so no relation to the 68 degree v10 in the CGT...

The Carrera GT might have to argue with you about the last F1 engine in a street car... That engine is just as closely related to the v10 Porsche developed for F1, as the Ferrari unit in the F50 and came out much later.

Drive an AMG.. then drive your e46m... sure the amg is faster in a straight line, but what is more fun to keep in the powerband and really enjoy driving... Hooning vs driving...

Umm e39M5 is not known for cheap repairs... might be the worst out there for long term costs. The e46 under 20k is doable for a decent example... but you need to drop 22-25 for a good one.

Drive an e30 or one of the s54 powered cars and you will understand what an "M" engine is all about... There is a soul there that whispers just hold the revs a little longer... take that corner a little faster, you can get on the gas earlier... High revs with power up the torque band is what makes them special. …

The e46M3 hands down speaks to you in a way that is magic... The e9x is faster but boring to drive. The f80... is an amg not an M.. sorry the engine has power, but it is not an M engine as those of us blessed with an s54 know and love.

E46M3 FTW.... Sure the e9x is faster... but nowhere near as fun to drive...

that is the only redeeming thing here... the engine might be owrth more then the rail.. but that does not seem to be a particularly newly rebuilt engine...

I see too many things here that cause me pause. I think there are slightly more expensive options out there, that in the long run would be cheaper, then sorting this one out... That frame alone, is a bit worrysome. The rear suspension has no travel in it....
