This is a story of how one of the worst days of my life ended up reaffirming my faith in strangers and in the human race in general.

Really? Because if I go out to Settings -> Popups, the checkbox to disable "popup offers for other Avast products" cannot be checked, and it says you can only uncheck it if you have the premium version of Avast. Other popups like Info and Update that are listed under the "offers for other Avast products" have no…
There is no other side to this story.
Hey, I checked out the new version and very little has changed. The few settings that were under "Appearance" were under "General" but otherwise everything looks pretty much the same. I've updated these in the post.
Yeah, most likely—disc burning apps don't change that much, especially in this post-disc age! I could probably stand to take a look and make sure, but you really can't go that wrong with any of the above options.
It has been a day since I posted my comment. It is still "pending approval". Why is this?

Having a separate post for app deals is a step down in usability for most people, myself included. It simply means more clicks, and more time spent, every weekday.

I click deals and pretty much look through the whole thing, and the movies and app deals are the treat at the end. Now i'll have to click 2 deals

I like the one-stop for all deals. Page Down key is always available for the App junkies!

Hello, I think the deals should stay where they are. All in one place. :)

People who put this much brain space into their mobile operating system of choice are truly bizarre to me. I mean, I have android devices and they're all rooted and whatever, so I clearly like android. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what would possess someone to spew out the comment that you just did.…
Well, to be fair, we've never been the best source for "what's going on in tech"—tech has always been just one part of what we do, since our founding in 2005. And while we do cover news to a certain extent, we're not a tech news blog. It's more often been tech tips and tricks, stuff like that.
If you haven't heard yet, Gmail is rolling out a new tabbed interface for the inbox on both desktop and mobile. At…
I JUST posted another comment about that! I was saying how it would've been nice to live in the days before we knew so much about all these STDs, but there was more syphilis then and there were still unplanned pregnancies, so I guess we should be grateful that we have such good testing and better methods for…
Yeah, I'm hating the way people are using this as a springboard for a big Beevis & Butthead-style sniggerfest. This is way too important to be considered funny, in my book.
HPV is an obnoxious, fickle, determined bitch. I say that as someone with a resistant cancer-causing strain. It's really, really helpful when well known and highly visible people mention that their cancer is related to HPV.
That's true, but this doesn't preclude other finance tools. You could use a combination (as I do). Calendar-based budgeting appeals to me because I want to see my projected cashflow on any given day (visually) and I move money around a lot and have irregular income. It's just another way of looking at your money and…
Nice tips.
