Yes, I got excited reading your (excellent) post, but I have a Chromebook also...I wonder if I do get a chance to organize playlists into groups as you explained whether they would carry over to the web player, and my phone, and my kindle, etc.

In the Spotify desktop program, head to File > New Playlist Folder or use the shortcut Control + Shift + N to make a new group. These allow you to put any number of playlists into a single group; greatly cutting down on the noise in one step.
That's pretty good company all around there, and I'm damn sure it's better than a snobby asswipe's.
