Dani Alves would like to be considered as well.

AHEM!!!! I retroactively win this debate.

What's your opinion on the away goals rule? Is it a bullshit tie break for a sport where goals are hard to come by, or a worthy reward for scoring away from home?

You're a fucking disgrace to the name of a fantastic BBQ joint.

I more or less agree. Any time the ball is turned over needlessly in midfield, chances are it's Jones who's at fault. And like you said, he always seems out of position, and holds Bradley back. I'd love to see Mix pair with Bradley, because I think their different styles complement each other well.

I wasn't impressed

As much as it's fun to hate Mexico as our great rival, and as satisfying as last night's win was, I want them to qualify. Grant Wahl summed it up quite well recently - it's in our best interest the Mexico remains strong, for the sake of the rivalry and for the strength of CONCACAF.

Don't blame soccer just because you missed the day in school where they taught punctuation.

I'm more upset over the shitty pitch that gave way under Bradley.

Thanks for gracing us with your first comment in 4 months to bring this important perspective.

Worth note that it was a Mexican officiating crew, too.

I can't believe you're not doing Greggg anymore. That's so sad.

Yeah, I know. I'm mostly just bitching because I'm a huge Casillas fanboy, and I don't like change. The team is damn near unstoppable on paper, so if Carlito can figure out how to make it work in actuality, I'll probably be ok.

Oh, I know, and I'm salivating at the thought. But of course it remains to be seen how Ronaldo deals with having another genuine (and more expensive) superstar soaking up some of his precious limelight. Ancelotti also hasn't really used Ronaldo well so far - forcing him too far up the pitch or too close to the middle.

At least Spurs had a (perfectly executed) plan to fill the void left by their best player. I don't know that Arsenal could say the same following the departures of Cesc and RVP.

I'm going through a serious crisis of faith as a Madrid fan right now. Casillas and Ozil were my two favorite players, and aside from Ronaldo, arguably the most important to the squad. Now I don't know what to do with myself. Fuck Florentino Perez right in the eye socket. And fuck Ancelotti too.

Well, if they could only pick one, most managers would rather win the UCL - it's more prestigious, because you're playing against the best of the best from across Europe. It's also VERY lucrative. But it's different, because the domestic leagues are based on points accumulation throughout the entire year, and the UCL

All of the major European leagues just started within the last few weeks. In mid September, the UEFA Champions League (UCL) will begin. The domestic leagues are the 20 teams from each country's top domestic league playing throughout the year (until May), where most points over the total season wins. No playoffs.

But, there isn't a clear group of death this year like there was last year when Real Madrid, Dortmund, Man City and Ajax were drawn together. I wouldn't say F is any more difficult than B or D this time around.

I called dibs, fair and square. I'll ask if she has a sister for you.

Katie Nolan is going to be my wife. The rest of this show is just unbearable.
