Pinterest is kind of like the Sims or Farmville to me - people build imaginary lives/futures to indulge themselves. They probably can't afford that fancy kitchen, the Louis Vuitton bags or that glamorous European vacation. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them or their Pinterest habits. People have a

I am a single, childless, professional woman based in Indiana. I have a debilitating love of fashion and no aversion to spending on what I like. I can guarantee they couldn't afford those clothes. I have friends in different government jobs around the state and except in rare positions, their salaries aren't over

First, if you use lotion or oil on your hands, wash them, then go over the nails with remover, then wash and dry thoroughly again. Then the manicure:

Do you have a yard that's secure? If so, leaving it outdoors in the heat and sun can really help and are free. Lay any drawers out. I did this with a stinky Victorian trunk that had a paper lining and it worked wonders. Newspapers inside drawers/cabinets help. A dish of coffee grounds can help a lot too.

I love the Red Violin sounndtrack. As it follows the violin's journey, the music adapts to different cultures, all played by Joshua Bell. It is haunting and lovely. I've lost myself in it so many times.

Congrats!!! I think there are tons of things you can do and enjoy without such a long drive. I'm based in Indiana and would be happy to give suggestions...if you can PM, please do. I agree on Chicago but would add the March is still winter in the Midwest and it can be brutal. "The Windy City" is no joke, although

Trashy Diva has awesome retro dresses (not super cheap) and posts the actual measurements for every style and size. The styles are very flattering to curvy figures, or at least mine. ASOS has a "Curve" line that has cute and trendy styles. In my experience, they run a little big. Again, they have actual measurements

I've been in your shoes and strongly suggest (if I knew you personally, I would insist) that you not respond in any fashion and retain any correspondence from him all the same. If you respond, it will encourage him to continue and his deluded mind will concoct justifications, that others are influencing you and you

I wish the article gave more detail about the study. If I were wealthy enough to be drunk at this hour, I'd wager there is more of a correlation between income and the stigma of mental illness than the higher income =more social drinking=higher incidence of anxiety and depression that the original article suggests.

As a longtime "lob"ster, I have wavy hair that has been a variety of thicknesses thanks to a health condition. Long layers are key if you want to play up the waves. I find styling cremes (ones that fall somewhere between creme and gel, usually in a pump) give a slight hold and prevent frizz. I wash and work in

Thanks, Joanbeam!

I tried a longer response earlier, but my phone is not liking kinja much tonight. My reply won't paste either...maybe you'll see it and it will help. Travel is tough.

I travel fairly regularly and it can be lonely. I'm neither outgoing nor introverted (just verted? ha), but I think that making dinner plans with colleagues at least once during the trip helps. I also like going to the same place, like a coffee shop or restaurant, each day helps establish a sense of familiarity.

hey whaddaya, I've been exactly there and know what a rotten spot that is. Things that have worked for me: caring for my body washing with nice products, massaging my scalp, thinking carefully about foods and balance); doing small things I enjoy (ex. our art museum is open late Thursdays & free so i go after work);

I second the call for an explanation. My crush began with Safety Not Guaranteed and now my heart does a little jump each time he shows up on Mindy. Objectively, I don't find him attractive in eithet role!

I should just give up.

I am stuck in a loop where it won't let me get rid of my accidental replies!

Ann Curry may not have been the best interviewer, but she was the BEST dresser! Once she started on the Lisa Perry stuff, I would watch each morning for that moment "on the plaza" where I could see her dresses and coats. I may be superficial, but I can't hate on anyone with such a fun sense of style. It made my day.

I could care less about whether she chooses to take her husband's name or not. I do think that the tour name title is...questionable? This is a woman who takes pride in her strength, has built a career on themes of female empowerment, and her tour's name doesn't reflect her in the way that most of her fans view her. I

Seriously. That song took the season finale of Revenge from watchable to ridiculously awesome.
