He might also have some of the Ozzy Osbourne genes. (I am not making this up.)

Or just really isolated/sheltered. When you have that kind of money, you can just retreat from society, mostly.  You don’t even need to keep up with your own field.

I wouldn’t put it past him to drop some ever so fresh Encino Man and George of the Jungle references on us at some point.

I completely agree. Again: “Why couldn’t this other person die instead, because I value them less” was the sort of thing edgy alt-comics would have said in the ‘80s, which carried over to mainstream comedy in the ‘90s.

[Already posted this as a reply to someone else on a different article, so apologies to anyone reading this twice.]

My theory on that: He, like the rest of the Friends cast, is stuck in the era during which he peaked: the ‘90s. “How does Keanu Reeves keep getting work” was a pretty common trope back then.

Then my information is out of date.  I appreciate the correction.

You’re right, and justified in criticizing me. I was venting.

I mostly remember:

Nice. It does vary per location/doctor though, obviously. I heard Vegas dentists are still pretty loosey-goosey with opiates, whereas if you’re in a town with a ‘spilling onto the street’ addiction problem, tough luck.

I know it sounds like a dumb platitude, but it’s true: it’s never really easy, but it does get easier. Hang in there. You’re putting in the work — because it is work, and requires effort — and that’s what’s important.

I think that’s precisely why “the company has taken the decision to [...] stop all payments to Ye and his companies.” That’s likely money owed to Kanye, but Adidas expects to be compensated for future lost revenue, not to mention damage to their brand... a bunch of stuff lawyers will be fighting over for a long, long

Oh good. It’s not just me. I was hoping 1800mg was a typo, because... man... that’s a lot.

I hope I’m wrong, but I suspect it’s shockingly large, and enough for Kanye to continue earning a decent living by catering to them.

Yeah. He has enough fame (and now infamy I guess) that he’ll continue to be able to reach whichever audience desires his work. He’ll be able to produce and distribute his music, though presumably most of his money there would be earned by touring.

I don’t think he’ll rebound to the same level, but he’ll always be able to make music and clothing, and there will always be people willing to buy his work.

I once heard a Mi’kmaq elder comment on this sort of thing. His take was something along the lines of:

[...] it would be pretty weird to change my name to Jacques and wear a beret everywhere I go.
