Exactly my thinking. If the truck had underride bars on the sides of the trailer (as legally required in Europe), the car’s systems would have detected them and started to take avoiding action. The outcome would have been different. Not necessarily non-fatal, but more similar to a human driver in control and paying

Not to say Raph is right or wrong, but you could also have expounded some commentary on the importance of having someone as talented/unhinged as Mr Kenny Brack to throw that car up the hill. The ragged edge seems dull to him, so he pushes slightly past it.
