Thanks, Joe. Very interesting. It's clear from that article that Deltawing LLC are playing a PR game to try to improve their own image and apply public pressure to Nissan. Pointing out the flaws in the Astro III's design is all very well, but they should be focussing on negotiating or litigating if they want to get…
Did I say there was any copying involved? I added no text to those images. I'm just demonstrating that we can't judge how much of the ZEOD RC infringes on the Deltawing's design just by looking at the general exterior shape and the relative positions of the wheels. It needs to be proven in court by experts, not on the…
Fewer differences than the Deltawing and the ZEOD RC, then
I'm playing Devil's Advocate, Michael. However, the innovative content in ZEOD RC is in the powertrain, hence the Garage56 entry on that basis. The ACO would never have allowed merely a coupe version of the previous Deltawing to take the space this year.
I'm playing Devil's Advocate on this one, Steve. See you in court!
Good point. The best time to claim Patent infringement is when the other party already has goods in the market making money (or about to make money). You can force them to incur a huge loss by preventing the sale of those products, or licence the technology to them for a fee.
I read a different version of the end of the agreement between Nissan and Deltawing, but I can't remember where. It gave me the impression that Panoz decided they didn't need Nissan any more, or wanted to take the project in a direction that Nissan wasn't interested in. Panoz dropped Nissan, rather than the other way…
The earlier generations of Cube had a much tighter overall design, and really embraced what made the cube fun and special. This was never going to be a huge, mass-market car for the Camry crowd. Nissan should have embraced what made the Cube special, and not given it the blander and needlessly more aggressive front…
Just as an FYI, Culzean Castle is pronounced "Cullane Cassull" by the locals. You too may visit it. I did. It's nice. You can even see Eisenhower's apartment.
Not for long...
Grazie mille, Marco!
