Also it wasn't just Jersey Shore, that episode of It's Always Sunny shaded my view on NJ a great deal and was surprisingly accurate.

If the show isn't done with nuance though I can see it adversely affecting societal perception of trans people as well as enforcing a gender binary that many trans folk aren't exactly comfortable with.
