This is not actually true. I've listen to quite a few DACs starting with the Behringer and as you spend more money, you get better resolution. It's true that there are some gems that can give you most of what the $1000 units give you for half, but you get what you pay for most of the time.

But really hardly a BIG gesture because Ditka is just treating the President with the respect he deserves... that all Presidents deserve. I guess these days that is a big gesture.
