First off, I didn't say is that this is murder or deserves a murder charge. It's reckless behavior, an accident that could have been avoided. The really bad thing here is that the driver fled the scene and didn't help the victims or call 911. That's what makes it really criminal, in my mind.

Sure, getting rid of poorer, younger street racers may work to reduce street racing, but I prefer getting rid of the wealthy douchebags. The poor kids have less options, so I don't blame them as much for wanting to race as I blame the racers who can really afford better choices.

Allegations without a complaint are rumors. Rumors don't merit investigation or reporting.

I'm glad you brought this up. Allegations without a complaint are simply rumors. Rumors don't merit investigations or reporting.

Yes. There's free online and downloadable software through US federal and state taxation departments. A lot of people buy stuff because of advertising or promises of faster refunds, but it's completely unnecessary. Anyone can also get free forms from local libraries to complete by hand. Many libraries also offer free

There's a very common belief that scams mostly impact young people with lots of money, so old and poor people don't have their guard up. The elderly also have cognitive changes that lead them to be more trusting, so they aren't as cautious. And chronically sick people tend to be more desperate. So this couple was

Yeah. Fines and asset seizures don't really affect the wealthy. A couple years of jail and parole would do this douche some good, if he's actually guilty. I don't think it needs to be a lot of jail time, but it's gotta be something to scare these spoiled brats out of street racing.

Fleeing is less of a crime than being caught with drugs or alcohol behind the wheel. That's why a lot of drivers involved with collisions decide to flee. I don't know this guy, but it might be the reason why he fled for a few days.

I'm not a fan or basketball player, so maybe someone else knows: why have a collapsible (and moveable?) net, at all? Is this school so deprived of space that they need to use the basketball court for something other than basketball?

A lot of people say dumb things in public and write dumb things online. This guy isn't unique in that regard. All that makes him unique is that a lot of people pay attention to what he does, so he doesn't get the benefit of a quick undo or deletion.

Not making sense and not being funny are part of getting out of the great, apparently.

Doubt it. Though he slipped, he recovered pretty fast. People in early stages with one of those ailments usually fail to recover from slips and (sadly) just fall. At least, that's what I've witnessed.

No. One day your self-driving car will become aware and kill you, making your high score on Pacman irrelevant. :-/

All the good people are grey.

This deserves a million stars.

Yes, it is a lot. Not beyond reach for those with professional sort of income or dual-income home, but it would be beyond reach for someone in the labor classes or single-income home. It would leave one in debt for over a decade if one had a poor credit history. So yes, it is a lot.

Cut the antenna for it, I'd guess. You really can't pull just one fuse to a system that is connected to every part of the car. Better to just keep it from being able to send or receive any communication outside the vehicle.

Electronic toll pass tag readers throughout NY and NJ highways are used to calculate traffic patterns, as well. The law currently prevents tracking for law enforcement (and the traffic computers aren't connected to the toll collection system), so there's no nefarious use that's possible with it.

A dog is worth nothing unless there is a buyer with his cash on the table, or an appraisal with specific insurance. It's just another person's junk, basically.

Because the Deadspin experiment with Kinja is a huge success.
