Isn’t this a very small part of Turkey that they crossed, like a few kilometres or so? It looks like the jet wasn’t in Turkisch airspace for more than a few seconds if that’s true. Not that I know anything about jets or airspace rules or anything.. Just wondering.

The Red Army certainly committed atrocities as they marched towards and into Berlin, but you need to take a hard look at conditions on the ground and what these troops had been through. Geosynchronous spy satellites? Yes there is several. But they are not good with the small objects such as trains. Geosynchronous orbit is 35 786 km away from the ground – it's pretty far for optical surveillance. Orion and Magnum not optical satellites, they are SIGINT satellites - for intercept radio signals.
