I love how the chef designer begin with the 107" wheelbase expecting to repurpose the chassis and then was given free rein on the redesign except by that point the 107 was now locked in. A smaller platform would have been cool.

I was never in love with the sad eyes look this car sported but otherwise it was a great return to its roots and a smart "reset" for the way forward.

While I can see some preferring the '14 nose perhaps I have to say the new car is far better looking and boasts a resign that won't look dated in a few years. Plus, they finally trimmed down the fat arse that you can see on my car.

While this car, philosophically was related to the original it's corporate look took it away from Mustang. That why I believe Ford was smart this time to let the corporate look be driven by heritage Mustang styling cues.

exactly. Why not apply Mustang styling cues across the line. Smart move IMHO. And yes, I know the Fusion debuts before the new Mustang but the look was inspired by vintage Mustangs.
